8th Graders Going to High School
It will be a sad goodbye for the 8th graders here at South Bay. The last year of middle school can be a happy time or an emotional experience.
“It’s scary because I don't want to go to a big school because I might get lost.” Says Gracelynn Trump, an 8th grader.
Some people aren't as nervous.
“I'm not nervous because I will be the coolest kid there.” Says Samuel Justin, also an 8th grader.
It will be a big change for the kids that have been going to South Bay since kindergarten
“I'm excited for high school because I have been going to this school my whole life, and I want change,” says 8th grader Yaqueiln Chavez.
Since South Bay is a small middle school it will be very different going from a small school to a huge high school.
“The transition at first is a little shocking, but after a while, it doesn't seem that big; it seems like a normal size school,” says former South Bay 8th grader Mitchel Jennings.
It seems that all the time people say that high school is the scary feeling when you start.
“High School is awesome. You have so much more freedom than middle school, and it’s really not as bad as everyone says it is,” he says. Some 8th graders are nervous about making friends since there is so many people in high school.
“Get involved in a sport or a club; there are so many options at high school, and it is a great way to meet new people,” Mitchell added.
It will be hard knowing that the kids you have been friends with since kindergarten aren't going to the same school. as you. You may be nervous for your first day of high school or to not know what to do when you graduate. 8th graders, Life is a roller coaster and you can either scream or enjoy the ride.
